John Varvatos founded his design company by the same name in 2000. The man was born in Detroit and had extensive design experience before launching his own label. His greatest design education occurred on the floors of Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Here he learned the roots of American style and what it takes to make and sell good quality clothing. John Varvatos, the designer, is responsible for the launch of Calvin Klein’s men’s collection. He is also credited for starting Ralph Lauren’s highly lucrative Polo jeans company.
