Kilgour designer fashion
Kilgour has been part of the fashion industry since 1882 when the company was first founded. In 2003 the company merged with American company Tom James and was spun off from parent company and British cloth maker, Holland & Sherry. It was bought by Carlo Brandelli.
Shortly after Kilgour was bought out, it hired a talented graphic artist to revamp its new logo. The new logo is the creation of graphic artist Peter Saville. This was not the only change the company made. It increased the ready-to-wear options available, introduced a wide range of accessories, slimmed down the suits and introduced a swanky new store design. This swanky new store design was at 8 Savile Row and was similar to the design of Tom Fords’ Gucci store.
Today Kilgour s known for its sleek lines that are beautifully contrasted with futuristic-looking and slim silhouettes. Each piece is so carefully created with meticulously laced contrasting facings that they look like they’ve been made with robotic precision.
Currently the company is competing with the new hipster tailors on Savile Row like Ozwald Boatend and Richard James. It’s goal for the future is to compete with men’s wear guru Paul Smith.
Keep an eye on this designer to see what fabulous changes Kilgour has in store for us in the future.
