Amazon Kindle 2 Advantages
We’ve done the work for you and reviewed the Amazon Kindle 2
1. WhisperNet: Amazon’s great range of book titles (300K+ titles including 7K+ free public domain books) are still the #1 feature and make the Kindle 2.0 the best eReader available.
2. The Whispersybc options, enables you to share books with your friends and also share the exact line/section that you’re currently reading.
3. Read to Me feature: Text to Speech is very cool and should be fun. Note: Amazon has now given publishers the option to turn this off for their titles.
4. Its very slim (0.36 inches), and sleeker with a metallic back. Opinion is divided on whether this looks better than Kindle 1 – However, Kindle 2.0 is definitely sleeker.
5. Up from the 4 level gray scale of the Kindle 1, the Kindle 2 comes with a better, 16 level gray scale screen. Along with e-Ink technology, it is easier to read.
6. The Amazon Kindle 2 has longer battery life up 25% from the old Kindle.
7. 2 GB internal storage - This isn’t really a high point though because of the lack of adding more storage severely restricts things.
8. Eco friendly solution, saving cutting of trees for paper.
9. The Kindle 2 price has dropped from $359 to $259 making it even a great buy than before
10. The Kindle 2 now has international version. That means you can travel with your Amazon Kindle abroad!
Kindle 2 Review – Cons
1. Only comes in one color. Come on Amazon, where is your creativity?
2. No color screen. In today’s technology age we do expect more from our ereader.
3. The Kindle 2 still uses buttons instead of a touch screen.
4. The battery cannot be replaced.
5. No option of using the Kindle 2 as a personal storage device as there are no SD slots for memory cards.
6. Does not support PDF files. That means all students majoring in business won’t be able to see all those complicated charts. That goes for architecture students too.
Kindle 2- Should I buy it or not?
1. If you don’t own any eReader and can afford $259 – Yes, Buy the Kindel 2. It is the best eReader available on the market now.
2. If you already own Kindle 1 and enjoying it, there’s no point of upgrading to the Kindle 2
