10May09

High quality bathrobes are some of the most coxy, delightful and plushy items of clothing you can own. When you’re watching television or a movie and you see a character fresh from a shower or sleep wearing one, don’t you want to go put yours on? Or don’t you wish you had one as comfortable and plush as the one the character is wearing?

No matter what kind of clothing you wear during the day, whether it be business casual , a uniform or t-shirt, there’s little that feels better than changing your daytime clothes out for one of your bathrobes. If you have one that you wear for everything, changing into it signals a switch from work and the regular grind to comfort and relaxation .

Bathrobes for Your Style

There are more to robes than wrapping up after a bath. In fact, there are so many different colors, styles and patterns available that everyone should be able to find a one they like. You can choose good robes in from a multitude of materials material, your favorite color or pattern, or both. Because they’re so popular, you can find them in almost any style you can imagine .

Bathrobes for kids are some of the most fun available. They can be just like an adult’s or they can be fun with characters and colors designed just for the young set. And kids’ robes come in every fabric and style you could possibly want, too.

Bathrobe Materials

Cotton is a perennially popular robe material, though some cotton robes aren’t particularly thick and plush. Cotton is a great cool material for hot weather and it’s highly absorbent which makes it great for using after a bath, shower or swim. A terry cloth bathrobe made from cotton can also be thick and comfy, but this all depends upon how the garment is spun or woven when manufactured.

Silk robes and silk kimonos aren’t plush, but they’re shiny and chic. They’re thin and very lightweight, so they’re nice if you’re not worried about keeping warm. Silk bathrobes aren’t good for slipping on after a bath or a swim, however, because silk is an expensive material that it’s best to keep dry. Silk robes are more appropriate for slipping on over pajamas, or wearing around the house in the evenings.

Plush robes can be made of an assortment of materials, like polyester velour, or the relatively new microfiber material that’s becoming very popular. Microfiber robes can be thin too, and are very absorbent, breathable and comfy .

Waffle-style bathrobes can be made from a variety of materials, but they’re designed differently in order to keep them thin and lightweight. Not really great for warmth , these are nice robes for slipping into after a shower or a swim without feel bulky or weighted down by a heavy bath robes that you might enjoy on a chilly winter evening.

You can choose bathrobes that have no pattern at all, or those that have zig-zags, waffles, ribbing, appliqués, embroidery or any type of design you like. For bright, bold and colorful patterns, silk kimonos and bathrobes are best, but for comfort and snuggly warmth, choose thick, absorbent materials.
