Trends come in and out of fashion with today’s retail system but if an item is extremely popular it will become a wardrobe staple. Denim jeans are the most notable trend turned staple in recent decades. Our new closet staple item seems to be a velour tracksuit.
Unlike fads which last a season or two and then disappear, the velour tracksuit seems to be sticking around. It has enjoyed seasons of popularity in the past however this time they have been around for a couple of years already. This is an age in the fashion world.
Velour tracksuits came to public view through celebrities at first. First it was Britney and her bridesmaids in embroidered baby pink velour tracksuits. Then the WAGs began sporting velour tracksuits during international football games.
Now of course they are a popular outfit on any high street. People like them so much because they are comfortable and stylish. It is important however that if you are going to wear a velour tracksuit you buy one that is made out of good quality material. When it is washed it should keep its shape. Likewise you do not want to see the colour fading. If the material is less than the best the tracksuit will end up looking more chavvy than stylish.
For adults darker colours work best otherwise you may end up a little like mutton dressed as lamb. Avoid any pinks, greens and light blues. Black, brown and navy are ideal as they are flattering.
Bright colours look super on children though. Clothes which are comfy, practical and fashionable are hard to find for young girls. When you can get all three in one outfit you have found a winner. Clothes which can be pulled on and off easily are great after things like swimming.
Loo at different retailers for the right velour tracksuit for you. Some will be better quality than others. Quality can be found at retailers who socialise in other velour clothing as well. £60 is the maximum price you want to pay for a velour tracksuit unless it is designer then you are just paying for the brand. Likewise, do not spend too little otherwise the clothing will fall apart after just a few washes.
